Allright! So as per the default configuration, all emails that are sent to your facebook account ie username@facebook.com are forwarded to your primary email address. This quick post is about how can you send email from username@facebook.com to anyone!

For example if example@gmail.com sends an email to username@facebook.com it will be sent to username@gmail.com (considering the person owning username@facebook.com has set username@gmail.com as his primary email address.) However, if the person clicks on reply, the email is sent as username@gmail.com. This is the default setting.
<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-3665990395431012" data-ad-slot="8776790945"></ins>

However, gmail allows you to send mail as any id as long as you can click on a link send to that email id. 3:)

Just follow these steps to be able to send as username@facebook.com :

1. Click on Settings Button in your gmail account > settings > Accounts and Imports

2. In accounts and imports click on ‘add another email address you own’

3. Enter the your facebookusername@facebook.com and uncheck “Treat as an alias”.

4. Click Next and in the next set of options select “Send through gmail.”

5. Wait for the confirmation email to be forwarded to your gmail id and once it arrives click on the link and close this pop up!

You are done and good to go! Just click on compose and you should be able select your facebook id to send emails from!

Thanks

Hello reader!
All right a quick introduction about this blog post. Just as any/every engineering students the word “assignments” terrifies me. I mean everybody knows we copy! But then, our profs are smart! They(specific profs) now ask us to write the entire thing(the assignment) rather than taking a print out! :( And for instance we had a subject like compiler, where we had to copy codes as long as 200+ lines in our handwriting. I don’t get the point, seriously!! So, I decided to have a little fun. 3:D (*EVIL SMILEY*).

All right so the solution that I came up with; was developing a font, with which I can exactly replicate my handwriting and can simply convert the code by selecting that font. :)

The above pic is a sample conversion. The results are super awesome believe me. This picture is a screen shot of the very first attempt that i made, the first line is written in Calibri and the second in “JUGAAD” and with a little rework one can do wonders. Especially, for a subject like compiler where you had to write “code” in your handwriting this is extremely full proof! ;)

Now comes the main question!! How! You’d probably already know it and if you don’t, believe me its very VERY easy!.
<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-3665990395431012" data-ad-slot="8776790945"></ins>
Step1. Download a template file from www.paintfont.com by clicking on “create template”. Basically this template contains small boxes with characters printed inside them in light gray color. The characters you want to create are already selected if you want anymore characters you can add those as well!

Step2. Take a print out of the template and fill the template. Take a bold marker and overwrite the light gray characters.

Step3. Now scan the two files. For instance here are the files I created.
FILE 1:

FILE 2:

Step 4 : Now you need to upload these files at http://www.paintfont.com/#tabUpload, select OTF format and click on “Send File”.

Step 5 : The font is ready and you get a screen like :

Step 6: Now just download the myfont.otf and on the downloaded file, right click > install. You can now go to your favorite editor and type in your handwriting! :)

About this post
I thought about writing a complete post on how everything(organizing the farewell) started and how did we complete everything in 3 days but I realized that that would be one really really long post! As there was a LOT that happened! plus I would’nt be able to finish it in one night! Exams are from this week. Hence this post is only about the most important part… that I would have written in that really long post…the part that made me think of making this post! A gratitude to the off-stage makers of the farewell.

Gratitude

I really wish to thank my gamer/body builder friend Nikhil Garg. For everything that I would discuss with him…. for every problem that i’d present to him.. he’d say one line ” Bhai tu kyu tension le rha hai, mai keh to rha hun ho jayga”. Yes, he meant it every time. Though with minor allowable differences. But he put his 100% in the commitment he made.

I really want to thank abhishek goyal. There is no fuckin thing he cannot get done. And there is no fucking deal he cannot get that done in. To take a very small example. The very day i called him up, we discussed the small things i knew at that time… and he went to the shops and by the evening i had figures with me! Sad that due to certain circumstances he couldn’t be there full time for the event… but again on THE day he was there and did save all of us at a lot of places.

Next i wish to thank shilpa ji, akanksha priya and nupur pasricha. The way they worked, i honestly did not expect that this would really happen… i mean these are the girls that score really well… they put in a lot in their studies… and one a week before external practicals they were in college handling all the creative work! I actually have started to get a very different understanding of how a topper’s brain works… they are not just “studious”. You give them a job and they would be dedicated to it.

I wish to thank rishabh luthra and prateek mogha. These two guys never said no. For everything, every single thing … there was a “chalte hain fir” . I remember the very first time i called up rishabh… in less than an hour he was in college! and in less than half n hour was “on” the work we had specially called him for. About moga i realized only the last day that he somewhat has that “look for the solution rather than cry over the problem” attitude.

Bhuvan and prabhat… In the end these two guys really supported a lot. We were in the kind of situation where man power mattered more than using the brain… and bhuvan and prabhat were our prompt choices and i really enjoyed how with no time they understood what is to be done and handled it.

Then there is guru. Guru’s work was really on the screen. He did ALL the work from home. Others would have nagged and thrown attitude may be (yes i know because we did face one such case and for that guy, fuck you very much.). But guru did his work and he did it good! :)

On the last day lakshay and manas were the guyz that handled everything! The event has a lot of things that needs to be arranged impromptu and that’s what they were there for! Thank you. :)

Then there is the group nayan, nikita, anchal, puniti, rohit, khushboo, ankita and nikhil verma. These guyz prepared the entire cultural event, the WHOLE of it in TWO days! :O Its more like a salute to them rather than a thank you! :D

I also want to thank daksh, my brother, my “family friend” :P . He helped us in more than one ways… there were a lot of places where we would have made a wrong deal but since he had already explored, he shared contacts and we got better deals :)

And yes!! Mohit Sabharwal!! You were really serious for the work that you had been given! And it all came out really nice! :) Thank you! !

And the “CRs” of our class. Bhavya and kritika. There is no amount of words that can even be used to sum up the amount of work they have done. Hats Off! No seriously! You are the most deserving students for the post of a CR. :) . Working with you was like a whole new system. Planned. Organized. Systematic.

And last but the most important. Ms Nishtha Jatana. If your were a part of the farewell and you think it was awesome. You know who to thank. I can guarantee that there is no other teacher in any other department who has done the amount of work that she has done! Infact in other departments teachers were just namesake but nishtha mam sat down with us… prepared the plans.. on top of that she even went with us for many deals! ! The most interesting thing was that she always had ideas more creative than we as students could come up with! !

On the whole this was a totally new experience for me. This is my first non-technical event that I’ve been a part of, so closely! Will never do it again! :D

The very first Humla session at Null Delhi Chapter meet. Awkay, I am going to try and make this not sound like Chinese to people who have, no idea about what this is.
So “null” is an open community. Created and run by Aseem Jahakar sir, nation wide(india). This community is for hackers, for anybody and everybody who relates or wishes to relate him/herself with security. Atleast that’s what I have experienced till now! :)

So as a community what do we do?
As hackers or security enthusiasts we are always indulged in something or the other. Trying things and all possible combinations of those things… we accomplish things and get stuck at many places too…and at the end of the we are the kind of geeks who like to have fun and mean no harm. All this. All of it is what is null about. We meet. Monthly. Present what we have learned. Learn what others show. Discuss our technical problems. And have the chit chat we like to have. :D So this is what a null meet is about.

Coming to the humla session. “Humla” is a hindi word meaning “attack“. Or mapping it to our domain it simply means “offensive-security“. Now when u are a working in security u can specialize in any of its sub domains like web application security, reverse engineering, network security, forensics, auditing etc. And if for example I wish to try out a diff sub domain then that means I would have to dedicate some time each day and start learning from scratch. Not that we would not love to do it or can not do it.. but instead we have the concept of a “humla” session. This is basically a workshop wherein u are given a kick start in that sub domain by someone who is already an expert. He is called the “humla champion” by the way, the trainer for that day. The duration of the workshop is typically 6 to 8 hours with small breaks in between. And all of this is organized free of cost but yes their is a selection process prior to this. And that is because there is only limited space available plus since advance concepts are covered so people with atleast a little pre requisite knowledge are preferred.

Now a little about the venue. This is how you reach the building. If you are coming for the first time you might need this.

Reached till here ? Cool. Next you have to get yourself a pass made at the reception and the guard there would tell you where do you need to go. At the entrance of the section where you were guided to by the previous gurad, sits another guard who would give you a document on which particulars of your laptop are to be mentioned. *security reasons* . Hehe. And he’d further guide you to “Tlabs“. And you’d realize that you have reached the place because generally its just us in there! :D If you dont, just in case, then look for either Sandeep Bhaiya or Vaibhav Bhaiya. The honorable mods of our chapter! :) From the inside the place is really nice just as one would imagine any office.

Coming back to the topic of this post! :D This time’s session was on “linux exploitation” & our trainer or the humla champion was “mr. sohail”.(read 1337). I was really really excited. There have been a few subdomains of security I havent touched or infact touched and left them for a full fledged research to be done later. Exploit writing was one of them. I did try doing it… just read a few tutes from https://www.corelan.be/index.php/2009/07/19/exploit-writing-tutorial-part-1-stack-based-overflows/ and some stuff here and there to back it up. The stuff was really great but when I had started reading this, I did not know enough to go further. So kinda left that in between but this was the chance for me..as some one was there to spoon feed all of that to me! What better ?
Hence, I reached the venue half an hour early. :D Its just the excitement that can do this to me. Usually i am late. Serious Late. No problem. Since perhaps there was this one other guy who was, i guess, more excited than I was.. and had reached earlier to me. Cool.! Around an hour later Vaibhav Bhaiya came and told us that this session would not be conducted at the place we usually sit. It would be conducted in a room that was at the end of the place we usually are in the beginning of. But when we went there it was a conference room YAY! a conference room! I was already getting the feel. :D

Now everybody started coming in I am only going to talk about the ones I know :D So the first surprise was to see rahul gurnani sir there. He is currently pursuing his ms in information security from IIIT ahemdabad so he is generally not able to join us for all the meets. Then there was ashutosh bhaiya… sandy bhaiya came in.. and the star rishi narang sir, the most interesting guy since the last two meets came in… and there was anupam sir… aah about anupam sir.. the very first time you see him you’d feel he is the kind of strict disciplined guy you’d rather not talk to… but then you gotta look at his presentation on cloud forensics!! maahnn! That was one hilariously put together presentation. You would rather come to know about his fun loving side.! :) i can almost go on writing about each member present there… (i obviously miss shubham bhaiya the most.)

In a conference table… the u shaped one… as you would already know … they have ports(3 inside one small box covered with a white coloured lid in the table itself…for every 3 chairs they would have one such box) to charge your laptops (or anything else for that matter). So there was this one lid that wont open.. and i figured it was all the lids that had the same problem. So on looking at it carefully i learned that it wasnt actually a problem.. that was THE locking mechanism. All you need to do it put your finger inside it and push a stick towards the opposite side. TADA!! it opened.

All right so finally came in our champion *drum roll please* the humla champion and he told us that he wasn’t prepared and wasn’t able to complete his sleep too because of some work… sorry about the second part… but not being prepared… that was even better… because this just means we would do a lot more practicals and very less theory.. and that’s exactly what happened. We started of with very basics of virtual memory, stack, stack frames, calling conventions etc. Then there was the first hands on… it was basically about overwriting the return address by exploiting the strcpy function. Was nice but yes just the beginning. Ahh! Also we were told to install virtual box on our machines so that sohail sir could equip us with the right tools. Now we started off with copying the “vdi” file to pendrives and distributing the software… this took about half an hour till we all had copies of the file. Normally a vmware workstation user would just just double click on the vdx file and it would run with the workstation software but this was a vdi file we had with us.. so what we needed to do was basically add this as a hardrive while creating a machine on virtual box…The operating system was ubuntu 6. We used this particular version because it does not have “Address Space Layout Randomization“. That is, now we can code our exploit without using registers we could directly use memory addresses. And we used gdb to do all the reverse engineering on the program we were running. Ohkay, after all of this was done.. Then we had our first break. We ordered pizzas and subs.(only ordered during the first break) and had coffee. Then we came back and did our second hands on which was putting in the shell code at the return address. So we the did the typical putting in the shellcode at in the input string then loading the address where the shellcode starts as the return address. Nicely done. By the way we used metasploit’s tools every now and then. We used the pattern-create and pattern-offset to get the string that we fed into the strcpy function. This done basically to get the exact address in memory of the place where the return address gets overwritten. All about number. ;) Now generating the shellcode was also fun since we first tried using metasploit’s payloads for that but later we used a shell-gen script and that quickly gave us the 96byte shell code and we used that in our code. Was really nice doing all this. By the way sohail sir also told us that the code is generally called shell code because back in the days this kind of code would generally be used to return a shell. YOU MUST GIVE IT A SHOT!.

After this we had our second break! We had pizza’s in this break and after a small wait the subs arrived for those who ordered them, they were definitely much tastier now! :D And then was the third and the last section where we took an exploit and sohail sir explained that exploit by sort of going step by step and discussing how that was developed. In this exploit we did not use hard coded memory addresses but rather an address of an instruction that would call the register which would have the value of the offset to our entered code. ;)

Sohail sir was very expressive and i was getting everything that he was saying. And yes one more thing… i now knew most of the concepts that were required as I have been studying Reverse Engineering for a lot of time now! and that is probably why it all sounded very familiar.

All in all it was one nice experience and for the Null Delhi Chapter. #Achivement Unlocked.

Allright, lately I have been making a lot (LOT) of sites based on joomla… infact the college site too.. :D but there is one problem every new administrator using joomla would have… and that is getting a fine clean template…
here are a few tips and tricks that worked for me (or not) :Firstly, the college site… yes I obviously could not use a paid template over there because there can be licensing issues and then everything would come on the college, obviously i wasnt going to buy one :O :D so i used a free GNU GPLv2 template :D
Ohkay talking about how to get the various premium templates :

1. VAREZ sites.

There are always 100’s of sites that host varez content and by asking in a few forums you would quickly get a link (in previous threads as well) and then you can download them. I used to depend heavily on crshare.com (later wordpressplus.org) this site had the most awesome content… scripts..PSDs…templates you name it and they had it… but sadly now there site’s content has vanished! however the site is still up!

2. Googling

Now this is the part that came handy not just for paid templates but even paid extensions… so how do you get the extensions and templates.. say you need “abc PRO”. just google
“abc pro -site:providersite.com -site:joomla.org”
and this would immediately give you links of latest sites that are hosting the content and would hide the genuine links of the provider and joomla.org (in case of extensions for example you would otherwise see links from extensions.joomla.org)

3. Torrents

This is the easy way however not always successful, see torrents are generally preferred for data that is huge to be hosted otherwise… but in case of joomla… themes and extensions are not really that heavy… so if you find a torrent..a good one… that would generally be one providing each and every theme of a single provider or a bundle of extensions..

Uptil now googling is what has helped… its so simple and works 80% of the time!

However be careful of what you download and make sure where do you use it. :)

However there was one little problem about the package they had sent. I found it really funny and decided to write this post. Following are the three images that would make everything clear.

1. The Invoice on the package – having the print invoice url

2. The invoice zoomed

3. Information disclosure – Admin Login Page :D

Apart from this two things I would like to add.

1. I by no means wish to defame bewakoof inc. In fact, I think they are doing a really cool job and i made this post after I informed this to the company. :)
2. Their T shirts are awesome. #Recommended

You know…everybody has something that makes them different from others…everybody’s parents have that something too. Well my parents are doctors. (That’s one thing that makes them different) and i have made full advantage of this… I would never even consider something being hygienic or not. If it looks tasty i would go for it.(and i am a north indian… anything fried, oily or too spicy appears tasty to me) :D because i was so sure that even if i get sick my parents would give me a medicine and i would be fit again…so i never really bothered… But recently i had went out of station for a month and i was actually afraid of trying the local food… i wondered what if i get sick here..! It was then that i realized its time that i started noting what medicines do my parents give me when i have a particular problem… It might sound that i fall sick very often…i dont..but when i do…man..its bad… Ohkay so what i wish to say on a more generalized perspective is that if you too have been taking some things for granted because there was someone who would do it for you… start learning that… at least so much that you can bring things under control… like driving… that’s one thing… or say umm.. accounts… or fixing home appliances… or working on the computer… Always move towards being more independent. :)

Jiski fitrat mai hai rakt samayi nahi
Jisko dollat se zada mehkhayi nahi.
Aise sajan ki mujhko zaroorat nahi
Na kehne kya sunnlo muhrat yahi

Akeli chalungi, kismat se milungi
Arrey mujhe kya bechega rupayiya
Oh arrey mujhe kya bechega rupaiya

Dil se dil k taar to jude nahi
To rasmo pe daulat ye kahe bahe
Hum to pyar k khwahish mai rishte bune
Or rishto mai lalach hamka hai sahe
Kya shadi k age zindagi hi nahi
Jo shadi hisabo ki kewal hai rahi
Aisi shadi ki mujhko zarurat nahi
Na kehne kya sunlo muhurat yahi

Subah se khilungi
Ratiya se kharungi
Arey mujhe kya bechega rupaiya
Oh arey mujhe kya bechega rupayia”
